Mapping Life in Quilts
Milestones in our lives are often fuel for special projects with which we commemorate them.
This holds true for celebrations as well as transitions of every kind, through which we are driven acknowledge the
experience with a tactile reminder. Somehow the combination of layers, color, texture and stitching helps to savor the
moments and sometimes holds us together.
Maggie Weiss has been sewing and creating ever since she took her first lesson at a department store in fifth grade.
An award winning quilter based in Evanston, IL, she teaches Quilting, Surface Design and Thermofax Silkscreen classes and workshops nationwide.
Her work has been exhibited in the United States and England and can be found in private collections in the U.S. and overseas
